-2.0 pounds
I weigh myself every Saturday morning, only once a week and always in the morning (you weigh less in the morning so it makes me feel better). This week I was down 2.0 pounds, 1/10th of the way to my goal. It’s a good start and I plan to continue it into this week. The first week is always the easiest for me though, it’s when I’m the most motivated. I did a really good job eating fruit for my snacks but is it me or are some fruits ridiculously un-filling? I swear I could eat half a watermelon and be hungry 30 minutes later.
My workouts last week were exactly what I needed. I stuck to my 2 strength training, 3 run or elliptical, and 1 swimming. But with my new-found love of swimming that might get changed to 2 days of run/elliptical and 2 swims.
Sunday: 30 minute incline walk workout
Monday: Strength Training
Tuesday: 45 minute elliptical
Wednesday: Rest
Thursday: 1,350 yard swim
Friday: Strength Training
Saturday: 45 minute run/elliptical
Yesterday August and I went to one of my favorite weekend destinations…the San Antonio farmer’s market. While it’s not the greatest farmer’s market and pails in comparison to some I’ve been to in Washington D.C. and San Diego, there are plenty of sellers with fresh fruits and vegetables.
While we were browsing for some fruits and vegetables I bought a nutella pastry and strawberry lemonade for breakfast.
If that could be my breakfast every morning, I would be one happy lady. August and I didn’t have plans to buy anything specific so we simply searched for whatever sounded the best. In the end we picked up some yellow squash and jalapeño peppers which we plan to stuff with cream cheese and wrap with bacon one night this week.
After the Farmer’s market we ran inside Whole Foods for some additional vegetables and gluten-free bread and then did our regular grocery shopping at HEB. I’ve always heard that if you manage to do your grocery shopping entirely on the perimeter of the store then you’ve done a pretty good job at keeping it healthy. And yesterday might be the first time I’ve ever completely avoided the aisles. Check out our weekly haul with all of our groceries from the farmer’s market, Whole Foods, and HEB.
This week will be dominated by fruits and vegetables! But the most exciting thing I bought yesterday…
3 different kinds of Justin’s nut butter! Oh, I’m so looking forward to trying these. I feel like Justin’s has been all over the blog-o-sphere but the Whole Foods in San Antonio never had any, but yesterday was my lucky day!
Do you do all your grocery shopping on the perimeter of the store? What’s your favorite kind of Justin’s nut butter?

I *try* to stick to the perimeter, but I love my pasta and cereal
I keep them whole-wheat, though
My favorite Justin’s butter is their honey almond butter; it’s so tasty!
I didn’t pick up any honey almond butter. I’ll have to buy that one next week!
I always forget to weigh myself, but I use the bathroom before I do!
Me too!

Where is the Farmer’s Market in San Antonio? And is it year-round?
We will be staying at Canyon Lake the first weekend in November and usually drive up to Austin for their Farmer’s Markets for our groceries for the week. But if the one in San Antonio is the same basic size as the Austin ones, that’s much closer.
We go to the farmer’s market that’s located in The Quarry. It basically takes place in the Whole Foods parking lot and is there every Sunday and I believe that it is year round. I’ve never been to the farmers market in Austin but I’d say this one has around 20 booths or so. But there’s also the Pearl Farmers market which is Downtown San Antonio every Saturday and is a bit larger. Here’s the website for that one…http://pearlfarmersmarket.com/
