Gluten-Free Super Bowl Snacks

If you’re anything like me, you’ve already started thinking about all the snacks and appetizers you want to make on Super Bowl Sunday.  I’m of the opinion that this is one day where it’s entirely acceptable to throw out your diet plans.  The super bowl only happens once a year and really, it’s just not the same if you’re munching on veggies and hummus.  So don’t feel guilty if you’re eating one of the 1.25 billion chicken wings that will get eaten that day or if you’re devouring one of the 4.4 million pizzas that will be ordered (source) because what’s Monday for if not to burn off all those calories?

Here are a few gluten-free recipes that I’ve found and been dreaming about making for while we watch the big game (or the commercials if that’s more your thing).

The original recipe for buffalo chicken dip from the one and only Frank’s.

I pinned this white pizza dip A LONG time ago and have been waiting to make it ever since.

Even though a majority of people are going to be ordering in their buffalo wings, there’s nothing wrong with trying your hand at making them.  August and I made these back in October and I sure wouldn’t mind having them again. :)

Guacamole is about as classic as it comes when you’re talking about game-watching snacks.  I’ve never made my own guacamole before but it might be time for me to try.

I couldn’t even tell you the last time I had an onion ring.  And even though August and I have never really embraced the use of gluten-free flours, we do like the gluten-free Bisquick mix which is what this gluten-free onion rings recipe calls for.

Skyline Chili Dip is one of August’s and my favorite snacks.  You can’t go wrong with the combination of cream cheese, chili, and more cheese!  And you can always spice the chili dip up by adding onions or beans.

And if you’re more into the the sweet treats than the salty you could try these peanut butter chocolate chip cookie dough bites.  They do have chick peas in them but good gracious does that picture look amazing or what?

  1. I know! Don’t they look so good?! I am a little wary about the use of chick peas though. But if they taste even half as good as they look then I’m pretty sure they’d be amazing.
