Hope everyone had a fantastic weekend and that it’s continuing on this Martin Luther King day! August and I had big plans to clean up around the house this weekend which of course ended up not happening so that’s how we’ll be spending our extra day off. But that’s ok because this weekend the weather was gorgeous and we took full advantage by being outside both days. I think the dogs had as much fun this weekend as we did.
Saturday we drove 70 miles outside San Antonio to Lost Maples state park. We did a 4.6 mile hike, and while it was challenging, it was fun and we’ll definitely be going back to tackle the west hiking trail.

And then Sunday morning we headed out to the ranch since August’s dad’s birthday was on Saturday. And of course we can’t go to the ranch without letting the dogs swim.

A very outdoorsy weekend indeed.
Now if we can just get the house in decent shape, I will consider this long weekend a success!

What a blissfull weekend! I’ve never visited Lost Maples, but now I’m convinced I’d love it.
Gorgeous pictures!
This was my first time at any state park in Texas and I was pleasantly surprised. We already have plans to go again to try out one of their other hiking trails!
You and August are the best puppy parents!! Elly and Duncan are so lucky to belong to such caring pet owners who plan their days off around activities for their pets!!! Looks like a very outdoorsy weekend! How is Duncan doing with the swimming since he was a little tentative at first?
He still doesn’t want to get in. It took us getting in with her for Eloise to finally give it a shot so we figure the same might be true with Duncan.
