Having 2 Dogs Means…

two times the exercise needs.

Duncan Walking

1.5 miles with Duncan.  Tried out his gentle leader for the first time and let’s just say that it’s going to take some getting used to. ;)

Eloise Walking

Followed by 2 miles with Eloise.

two times the snuggles.

Dogs Snuggling

two times the dog food (and therefore two times the money).

Natures Domain Dog Food

We go through a 30 pound bag every other week.  Duncan gets 8 cups and Eloise gets 3-4 cups per day.  Adds up quick!

two times the excitement.

Dogs Playing in Snow 2

Dogs Playing in Water

two times the training.

Training 2 dogs

Training a Golden Retriever

two times the cuteness.

1 year old golden retriever

Newfoundland Puppy

two times the love.

  1. Why are you trying the gentle leader with Duncan rather than the harness? It’s a good thing I hadn’t returned Rue”s harness as she chewed up the first one when I didn’t take it off immediately!!! I do like the gentle leader though.

    • What August said below. It’d be too confusing to teach him not to pull using a harness and then expect to teach him to pull a cart also using a harness. Therefore, the gentle leader it is!

  2. We are doing the gentle leader with Duncan so that we can teach him to pull a cart when he has a harness on. We want to get him certified as a therapy dog as well, then take him to hospitals and pull kids around in a cart. How cool would that be?

  3. We love having 2 dogs now! I had the same reservation before we got Duncan in that maybe I wouldn’t love him as much but it’s SO not true. Now that we have 2 I can’t imagine not having one of them!
